This year, after much complaining from staff and students, my district decided to allow us to access You Tube on the district site. For me, it wasn't a life changing experience, but I know of many fellow teachers whose lives just got a little easier. With the growing concerns of what the students are accessing while on the school computer, it is common to have many useful sites blocked by districts. In response to this, edublogs has created a solution. Edublogs.TV is the newest tool from edublogs. It allows you to upload videos that are deemed educationally useful to the website. Edublog.TV then takes the vidoes and allows them to be posted in a way that schools are now able to access them. Many of these videos are from You Tube and typically the original site would be blocked.
I know that there are growing responses and ideas to the YouTube blocking phenomenon, and this is just another way to get around the problem. Edublogs is already a great site, and this just shows their dedication and commitment to helping schools and educators.
